The 18-year-old claimed nine wins on his way to sealing the title, claiming two of those wins from pole position this weekend at Silverstone to cement his champion credentials.
Frederick started the Silverstone shoot-out in style claiming double pole position on Saturday morning – once again proving his pace. However, he had close company in the form of Championship rival Kush Maini who qualified alongside him on the front row of the grid for both races one and three. Nazim Azman once again put in a solid display throughout the 20-minute session.
In the opening race of the weekend, Frederick flew off the line and made sure to cover Maini well who slotted further back. Frederick began one of his trademark drives; extending his advantage to over six seconds before it was slashed thanks to a safety car. However, upon the restart, the talented American once again maintained control and crossed the line to take win number eight of the season and increase the likelihood of his championship victory. Teammate Azman took the flag 11th.
Sunday morning saw a slight delay to proceedings thanks to a thick cover of fog hanging over the historic Silverstone circuit. Further drama came in the form of challenging conditions leading to a dilemma between slick or wet tyres which proved to be the defining moment of the race. Azman opted for slicks, Frederick for wets. As the race developed, Azman charged brilliantly through the field finding the conditions favouring those on the slick tyres. Azman would eventually take a podium in third while Frederick made sure to finish ahead of Maini which left him needing to only finish the final race of the season to clinch the title.
Simply finishing was never an option for Frederick. Instead, he ended with a flair taking win number nine, after a lights to flag victory, and sealing the 2020 BRDC British F3 Championship as his own.
2020 British F3 Champion Frederick said:

We got double pole and the double win which again shows the amount of hard work and dedication that everyone in this team has put in to help us get this championship this year. I’m beyond thankful for everyone’s effort and support, there’s been so many moving parts and obstacles to overcome.
As a team, in everyone’s personal lives and the challenges we’ve all faced this year, I’m just so thankful for everyone’s efforts. It’s a massive relief to finally take home the championship title. It feels like it’s been a really long year, it’s a nice to now be able to go home as 2020 British F3 Champions.
On the flip side, the championship has already got me hungry for next year and eager to work hard for whatever might come next in the higher ranks.
That’s going to be my full focus after a week relaxing and reflecting. A big thank you again to the team, my family and of course my incredible sponsors for their support, without which none of this would have been possible.”

He’s worked extremely hard and made such big steps forward since he joined the team last year and to see that experience and talent flourish and be rewarded with a championship title is hugely satisfying. The team have done a fantastic job once again to keep pushing and developing the car.
To see Nazim also regularly challenging for podiums just demonstrates to me the great job the team do in helping drivers reach their potential and push themselves every race. I’m really proud of the team and drivers.
